Confidence. Once all the data has been captured we rigorously test and compare scan data against total station control and point data following a tried and tested regime to ensure that only the most accurate permutation of the various data sets is passed onto the next stage of the process.

Advances in point cloud processing and registration software have produced a plethora of ‘automated’ registration processes, MeasuredBIM are firmly against this upload and leave methodology as results vary wildly from registration to registration even within the same data-set. We prefer to use our experience in survey methodology and error reduction to ensure the robustness of our data sets, rather than rely on a best mean fit algorithm.
